Biography

Adjunct Professor Erin Gleason Alvarez is Director of the Mediation Practicum at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and also teaches at the Amelia A. Gould Representation in Mediation Clinic.

Professor Gleason Alvarez is founder of Gleason Alvarez ADR, LLC where she serves as an arbitrator, mediator, and negotiation consultant. Prior to founding her own company, she worked as a litigator and as in-house counsel at AIG where she oversaw its Global ADR Program. Professor Gleason Alvarez was appointed to serve on the Global Mediation Panel for the United Nations and was also inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Additionally, she is a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Panels, the CPR Institute Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, the Resolute Systems New York and National Mediation Panels and of the board of the Mindfulness in Law Society. She serves as a Special Master for the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, First Department, a mediator for the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, and a volunteer mediator for the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. She also teaches mediation at St. John's University School of Law.

Widely regarded for her expertise in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, Professor Gleason Alvarez regularly facilitates training programs before bar associations, corporations, law firms, and other organizations and is a sought after speaker at various ADR-related conferences and seminars and a published scholar on the topic. She has also received recognition in the field as a Higginbotham Fellow with the American Arbitration Association and has been recognized by 鈥淲ho鈥檚 Who Legal: Mediation鈥 as a leading mediator since 2020.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to announce that Erin Gleason Alvarez has joined the faculty as an adjunct professor and Director of the Mediation Practicum, in which students are trained to serve as mediators in small claims disputes. Gleason Alvarez is an arbitrator, mediator, and negotiation consultant. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitration Panel, the CPR Institute Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, and Resolute Systems New York and National Mediation Panels. Gleason Alvarez also will conduct mediation trainings for the broader Haub Law community.
